Washington School House Hotel | Boutique Park City Property

I discovered the Washington School House Hotel a few years ago, and I fell in love. Anyone that’s seen it falls in love. It’s crazy-stunning-gorgeous, with the most elegant decor and distinctive touches (hello? chandeliers galore?!), and it almost belies Park City with its lack of ‘mountain’ furnishings and clean, white design. It’s my favorite property in the area.

I’m not alone. A friend of mine recently basically built her home from the ground up using the hotel’s contractors because she loved the property’s look & feel. It’s won numerous accolades for its design and service, and even a visit from Forbes resulted in a glowing review. [Currently, Netflix, which could have chosen anywhere to base their Sundance activity, have the entire property rented out for the Film Festival.]

Anyway, when I fell in love with the WSH, I also fell in love with the fantasy of shooting the property one day. Of course, their site was full of really beautiful photography, so I knew they were set on photographers. But, still, I dreamed: if somewhere like that would ever hire me, it would be an enormous feather in my cap.

When I got an email over New Years that the WSH would like to book me for a shoot, I yippee’d. Like, felt a surge in my heart. Me. Shooting the WSH. Wow.

They are debuting two new services: a) offering an apartment/suite rental in addition to their hotel rooms and b) a dinner menu. And I was fired up to photograph both. Ohhhhhhhhhhh the beauty in their simplicity…
