Chicago Family Photography

The holidays are a neat time for photographers.  Not only are families eager to capture themselves for that annual holiday card, but people also travel as a family unit to special destination for their vacations.  Many choose to spend their holidays visiting Park City, and as a result I often get the chance to meet new folks from across the country for family photography shoots.

This family was visiting their Silver Lake home for the holidays, and I had the opportunity to catch up with them just before Christmas.  I got my masters in Chicago and lived there for five years, so it’s always a joy for me to hangout with Chi-towners and talk about my ex-homeland.  Though I’d never met this particular group, I couldn’t have felt more comfortable!  A combination of that ol’ Midwestern Niceness along with the general cheery spirit that comes with having a lot of brothers, sisters, parents, cousins, aunts, and uncles in one space made this shoot fun and light.  And the falling snow (and all the hugging!) contributed to the celebratory feel of a family together for Christmas.  Super adorable.
