Jungle Party Theme | Children Birthday
Last year, Ella’s 5th Birthday was incredible. Everyone had a total blast (even the people working the party!), and the images ended up getting published TWICE (here and here).
How was social stylist Emily White of Haute Hostess going to top such an incredible event for this year’s 6th birthday?!?! Why, bring in the Jungle, of course!
Last week’s jungle-themed party was out of this world. And if there was any doubt how cool it was, watching the faces of the kids when they rounded the corner to the backyard was proof positive — they lit up like Christmas trees. Wild birds sat in a life-size cage, where the kids could walk in & hold them & feed them. Kids lined up to limbo or jump in the bouncyhouse. Party favors included binoculars and animal ears. His & Hers pinatas were pummeled. Jungle treats were abundant (pretzels were ‘twigs’; licorice was “zebra stripes”; and on and on with the cuteness). A STUNNING three tiered buttercream cake (one tier was leopard print, seriously) had a minor set back in the 101 degree heat, when the giraffe collapsed, but it didn’t keep the gorgeousness from tasting any less incredible.
The kicker was the live animal show. My partner Victor was beside himself excited about all the turtles, snakes, iguanas, and other reptilian goodies that were showcased by Scales and Tails Utah. They brought out the animals — including a ginormous yellow python — one at a time and introduced the kids to each reptiles’ lifestyle and personality. The kids could touch and hold several of the animals, and the smiles were from ear-to-ear. I was VERY impressed with Birthday Girl Ella, who fearlessly held every one of the animals, even wrapping a snake around her neck! It was all pretty perfect, if I do say so myself.
