Guardsman Pass Family Session | Californians
I love when people message me through my website. It makes me wonder how they landed upon my URL, which is ~mysterious~ to me, but, also, it lets me know that they’ve seen my work and know what to expect for a session.
When I heard from Carol a few weeks ago about a last minute trip her family was taking from California to Park City, Utah, I was instantly excited. It’s fun to shoot out-of-towners cuz I feel like I’m showcasing my home! I get to talk a bit (with pride) about Park City and usually take them to a place for the shoot location they’d never visit on their own. Plus, with this family, I got to chat SoCal, an area near & dear to my heart due to having lived there multiple times (and V & I still head out there several times year).
Mostly, though, I was thrilled to meet these warm, warm, WARM people. They.are.so.nice. As much fun as we have, a family session can be stressful on the family: getting everyone ready, making sure everyone’s ‘smiley’ for the shots, telling little ones to behave, hoping that you’re spending your money well. And — with a bloody nose, a fire ant appearance, frustrating allergies, and more gnats than usual — there was a wealth of reasons why this session might not have been all peachy. Yet, look at these faces. Look at the hand-holding and arms-around-each-other, and huge huge grins. They were so easy and (I rarely use this word) merry that V & I not only enjoyed photographing them but, also, were happy just to have met them. Cute, cute bunch here, people.
