Holland Michigan Photography

TGIF :: It’s Friday. Get fired up.

So, I shot a wedding in Iowa a few weeks back, and while I was in the midwest, I wanted to visit a Park City friend that had recently moved to Michigan.

Kristin Remenschneider was the Director of Events and Operations at the Kimball Art Center on Main Street in Park City when I first met her.  I shot a few events with her in charge at the Kimball (such as this incredible family reunion studio shoot and my coverage of Nathan Sewaya’s Lego Exhibit), she in part connected me to Barley’s Angels, and it was her initiative that led to my own exhibit in their Garage Gallery.

Throughout all these professional connections, Kristin became a friend, which is the best possible result of a work collaboration.  We were able to transcend our business relationship into a friendship, and I really valued that.  When she moved to Michigan, I missed our conversations, my pops into the Kimball to say hi, and our ability to be *real* with one another.

Visiting her in Michigan and seeing her hometown through her eyes was special.  Her love for and pride in Holland shone through as she drove us around the area & neighboring towns (like Saugatuck, which couldn’t remind me more of the Cape, or Nantucket, or Martha’s Vineyard — dreamy artist towns with colorful, unique storefronts, colonial homes, and narrow streets).  That said, due to the rain, my photo ops were limited… but I was able to get a few shots when the skies parted!

Thank you, Remenschneider Family, for the memories!
