NYC Photographer | Manhattan Engagement

Magic. Magic location, magic light, and, of course, magic couple.

The magic on this shoot has kept me beaming for over a week now. The moment I uploaded our CF cards onto my laptop to save the images to my myriad external drives, I was giddy. Like a newbie shooter. Like a jaded shooter that just re-discovered what made her love photography again.

First of all, I’ve loved this couple since the moment I met them in Park City, Utah. We interviewed with them at the Publik Coffee Roasters at the Kimball Arts Center on Main Street, and I left our chat thinking, ‘man, I want this wedding.’ I love their vision and description of their Day (everything from a twinkle-lit tent to ‘oh, yeah, there will be lots of dancing!’) but, more importantly, I enjoyed their connection with one another. These two are a team, entirely on the same page and genuinely excited about their upcoming wedding and marriage. It’s a pleasure to see, especially in my industry. I was thrilled when I heard from them that they liked us as well… and even more fired up when we started talking about doing their engagement shoot around their condo in Manhattan (omg I LOVE love love shooting in NYC!!!!).

We started on their building’s rooftop (360 degree views galore! midtown! downtown! all the bridges!), and made our way down the street from their place to a cobblestone side street strewn with graffiti and the Chrysler Building in sight. Fantasyland.
