Commercial Shoot Love in my Hometown: Park City!

Being hired by the Park City Chamber of Commerce was a huge honor for me.  That they like my work enough to bring me onto their team for a project is wonderful.  That I get to contribute to the Visitors Bureau in my own town — help create material that will bring guests to a magical little spot in Utah — is profoundly awesome for me.  I’ve only lived here a few short years, so being a part of www.visitparkcity.com is like… a badge of acceptance.  🙂

I’ve long known of Park City due to the Sundance Film Festival taking place in this mountain town.  As a teenager in Boston, I’d see photos from Sundance in Vanity Fair, People, and Us magazines, and I’d fantasize about life in Park City’s small alpine community that once a year bursts into pop culture.  The first chance I could — when I was 25 and driving my car from LA to Chicago for graduate school — I detoured through Park City and felt my mouth water.  The town’s iconic Main Street, its mining history seen in the architecture and celebrated in neighborhood & street names, the friendliness of its locals, the spectacular visual feast of the mountains … it was at once completely novel and familiar.  Although I’d never lived at 8000ft, I still sorta felt like I was coming home.

Years later, when I fell in love with my now-husband in South America, and, as it turned out, he’d been living in Utah for years, it was too coincidental to be chance.  Park City was finding me this time, and moving here has changed my entire life.  I’ve built a business, discovered amazing friends that make me feel like a part of their families, and established a life with my soulmate.  I mean, I feel like I’m home for the first time in a very, very long time.

As for this bridal shoot with the Chamber… swoon!  The lovely Tina Metcalf did make up for beautiful bride Jenna Swan, who’d only a few weeks prior married Michael on Main Street (perfect! Real Park City newlyweds!).  Silver Cricket Floral crafted a perfectly rustic bouquet for our shoot, and even the Park City Trolley got in on the action!  Come one, come all: book yourselves a Park City Wedding immediately!
