The Sweet Tooth Fairy Part One | Salt Lake City Product Photographer

WARNING :: this post may cause wildly persuasive sugar cravings.  At least, when I was editing, it was nearly impossible not to want to rush out to one of Megan’s shops.

The ‘Megan’ I refer to is, of course, Megan Faulkner Brown, aka The Sweet Tooth Fairy.  Megan is a bit of an overachiever, if I do say so myself.  She owns & operates 9 retail shops, is extremely philanthropic & community-oriented, appeared (and won!) on Cupcake Wars last year (Food Network), AND is a wife & mother (4 young children).

I feel overwhelmed simply listing her achievements.  But, you know what?  On top of being so wildly accomplished at such a tender age (ahem, she’s only in her mid-30s), she’s also an incredibly lovely & attractive person.  Sigh.  I’m just thrilled to have met her at Sundance last year when I was the in-house photographer for ChefDance.  So, bottom-line: Sundance itself is an incredibly intimidating atmosphere, and ChefDance is an elite microcosm of Sundance, and — I’ll just put it out there — people aren’t always the nicest or friendliest.  And there I was, running around at breakneck speed trying to capture everything, bumping into Industry VIPs left and right, just trying to stay afloat while nervous knots ate away at my stomach lining… and then, I saw these beautiful eyes light up with a smile and heard a kind voice say, ‘oh HI!’ as she recognized me from a prior party I’d photographed, and I immediately felt better.  *That’s* Megan.  Despite being the featured baker that night at ChefDance, and despite being in the midst of plating literally hundreds of her cakebites for the Big Names of the Film Festival, she stopped what she was doing to greet me warmly and enthusiastically.  Lemme tellya: it made my entire week.  That generosity of spirit is what differentiates her from the masses; well, that… and her absolutely divine treats.

Huge gratitude to the team listed below for their essential contributions — this shoot was published by numerous blogs due entirely to the fantastic collaboration of this group:
