Family Shoot | Twins!

Never doubt that handing out your card during a completely unsolicited ‘Hi I’m a Photographer’ moment will go unrewarded!

V & I were in a particularly lengthy line at the post office last holiday season when a friend noticed us and came over to say hi… and it turned out, she also knew the person in line behind us.  So all un-introduced parties were introduced, our mutual friend left, and I chatted up our new friend until V & I we reached the counter serviceperson.

She’s a professional writer, so right then & there I could have talked with her for HOURS rather than a mere few minutes.  Alas, we didn’t have long, so I handed her my card, told her I shoot ‘everything’ (which sounds ridiculous [desperate], but it’s basically true), and said I hoped we’d connect.

… and then I never heard from her throughout the duration of 2013 and the majority of 2014.  I’d given up hope she’d be in touch until, lo and behold!, she emailed a few weeks ago.  Can you believe it?!  Her twins (twins! I’ve never shot twins!) had gotten their braces off, and they were ready for a family session.  I was psyched.

Thank goodness she was in touch!  This shoot is gorgeous.  The height of the fall foliage was in full effect at Guardsman Pass, and the skies were darkened by an upcoming storm (but nothing cracked until the shoot was over), and there was beautiful light for both the subjects and the wild colors all around us.  More notable than the setting, though, was the family.  Everyone was so.nice — happy to be in front of the camera, totally game for all my (sometimes dumb) photography ideas, up for a roving shoot as we walked around the area to a couple different spots I wanted to highlight.  Even the dog was fun-loving.  Easy-peasy, so pretty, and a genuinely sweet time.
