Is there anything more adorable than a First Birthday Party, complete with a cake smash, baby pile, and Cookie Monster hat?! No. No, I don’t think so. Maybe a basket of kittens; but it’s a tough call.

I first met Sarah when I photographed a wedding she planned (Copper Moose Farms — and my first publication in Utah Bride & Groom AND the Knot!) (ummm, yeah, she’s way talented). When her baby, Huck, was celebrating his milestone First Birthday and Sarah wanted coverage for the afternoon, I knew my associate photographer Kendal would be perfect for the job. Playful candids? Genuine moments? Portraits that don’t look pose-y? Check, check, and check. Kendal’s emphasis on authenticity combined with all.those.smiles (and, again, a mat full of babies: see photos below) makes this collection so sweet and so joyful that you can’t help but wish you were there, too, for all the preciousness.
