Harvest Moon + Hotel Park City + VisitParkCity.Org
I heart collaborations.
I was hired by the Park City Chamber of Commerce for a shoot at Hotel Park City late in the summer, and it was one of those awesome-dream opportunities where I was given some leeway in styling the shoot. My direction? To make the images enticing to a client seeking a venue for a post-conference cocktail or dinner party.
My first call was to Kasey Aune at Harvest Moon Events. Kasey and I had both worked a summer wedding together, and I saw her take a tiny budget & blow it up into a truly fantastic reception (like, for real). Kasey hopped on board for this styled shoot and — without so much as a word from me — showed up with all kinds of neat rustic-cum-sophisticated touches (ummm, hello suede + wood decor? farm tables? printed menus? sprigs of green stuff? she even remembered the lemon garnish for the water glasses!). Her talents combined with a few dishes from Hotel Park City’s Bandanna’s Grill made for a pretty fabulous set-up.
While I look forward to sharing more from the official shoot, for now I wanted to highlight a few 35mm film shots I took for myself. I had just purchased a Canon EOS-IV and was eager to see how it performed, so, behind-the-scenes, I snapped detail shots with Portra 800 film without much expectation. To say I love how they turned out is an understatement.
