Lauren Winans :: Nashville Singer Songwriter

When Lauren Winans‘ agent contacted me about doing a photo shoot for her new album, I was fired.up.  Ummm YES I want to photograph Nashville’s hottest up & coming singer songwriter!!  And, to boot?  She’s completely gorgeous, sweet, fun-loving… and the camera loves her.

So, Lauren’s list of accomplishments reads intimidatingly long.  Her latest single, Wicked Game, drops on September 30th.  Her songs include co-writes with Emily Shackelton, Michael Davey, Troy Johnson, Buck Johnson and Phil Barton, and her collaborations involve Mike Krompass and Jennifer Paige. She’s inked endorsements with Lavish Lashes, Sole Society, Others Follow, Honey Punch, Cinderella Hair, Image Skincare, Amanda Uprichard, MuMu, and LuLu’s.  She’s acted on a national television series.  She does showcases in Nashville and performs across the country (she has an upcoming show in NYC).  

Ridiculously awesome, no?

As far as working with her, I warned her: I was going to work.this.shoot.  If I only had an afternoon with this beauty, I was going to do it up: backdrops, pools, horses, hard light, strobe light, natural light, magic light, a crazy amount of wardrobe changes… we’re going big before we’re going home!  Lauren was infinitely patient and professional as we battled 100+ degree heat, 100% humidity, and bugs bugs bugs.  It’s actually kind of amazing, to be honest, to go through these pictures a few months later and try to remember how hot it was or how many bug bites I got because Lauren looks so relaxed and cool in every frame.  She killed it!
