A property shoot is more comprehensive than single architecture shots. It’s portraying the atmosphere of a space. In photographing a Park City resort, my goal is to showcase everything a space can provide for a quick drive-by, a single night’s stay, an extended vacation, or a hosted event (depending, of course, on what I’m hired to photograph).
In the case of The Lodge at Stillwater and in addition to property photos, I was asked to highlight the on-site restaurant and the family-friendliness of the area, so I suggested we stage a couple ‘dining out’ and several siblings making s’mores by the Jordanelle. Since everyone ended up having a genuinely good time during the shoot, getting happy smiles wasn’t a challenge!
