Julia & Adam’s wedding is remarkable in so many ways.  The bride & groom couldn’t keep their hands off one another (which made for wonderfully intimate and romantic bridal portraits following the ceremony), family traveled from all over the states to be a part of the Day, the wedding was held at the bride & groom’s own ranch property, a biking theme (the couple’s favorite activity) was creatively integrated into all aspects of the event, there was a tremendous amount of laughter… and I could go on and on.  Personalized, meaningful details?  Check and check (and check and check and check…).  Their wedding was **them** in each & every way.

To me, the most incredible part of the wedding (and, really, the couple themselves) was the way in which so.many.people pitched in to make the Day happen.  Every aspect was DIY — DIY contributions from family and friends and colleagues and neighbors.  For example: the bride’s mother made the cake topper (positively adorable); a bridesmaid designed the bride’s jewelry; the groomsmen cleared the brush and created a space for the wedding; a friend officiated the wedding and built the arbor; another friend leant the gown and the bride’s sisters did her makeup; the bride’s coworkers donated linens and tables; and yet another friend helped gather bikes that the wedding party would use for their entrance to the ceremony.

Of course, the couple themselves were the busiest of all!  The bride painted signs for the property, fashioned garter belt-cum-flask gifts for her bridesmaids, bedazzled cowboy hats for the guests, and fashioned centerpieces for the reception; and the groom crafted the wedding rings from a titanium-etching program he wrote himself.  Ummm, yeah.  Wow.

Seeing all these people come together to support Julia & Adam would touch even the coldest of hearts.  I mean, these are two very beloved individuals, and I love how everyone’s joy shows in their faces from the very start of the day to the very end of the evening.  I also think the two of them riding away from their ceremony with Adam driving a bicycle built-for-two is the sweetest thing ever.
