Park City Winter Wedding | Jen & Mike at the Canyons

I love me a winter wedding! And a winter slopeside wedding?! Oh my.

When Jen contacted me about photographing her intimate winter Day at the Canyons Resort in Park City, I was all over this. She and Mike used to work at the Canyons prior to moving to Cape Cod, where they now reside, and they were bringing family back to the resort to celebrate their nuptials.  A chance to shoot on a mountaintop?  Ride the Orange Bubble gondola up and down the slopes??  A bride that was really excited to sport winter accoutrement (faux fur, Hunter boots) while alongside her cascading bouquet and floral hairpiece??? Check, check, and check. [Flowers: Braided Briar/Hair & Makeup: Lunatic Fringe Salon]

Finally meeting Jen and Mike on the Day-of was like seeing old friends! They are the sweetest couple (just look at her **smile** for the love of all things holy), with both of them full of the stuff that makes me giddy — giggles, sweetness, and, most of all, l-o-v-e. Plus, their families were SO HAPPY and proud, and I couldn’t stop snapping away at everyone simply enjoying themselves and one another throughout the afternoon and evening. These people were just awesome to be around.

We started with a First Look at the Silverado Lodge, where they were getting ready, and then rode up the Orange Bubble for some mountaintop photos at Lookout Cabin. After riding the gondola back down, we proceeded with the ceremony at a private outdoor (but tented & heated) spot at the Farm, complete with a view of the slopes. Following family photos and a few more portraits around the Canyons village area, we settled into dinner, toasts, and cake-cutting before doing a few more outdoor, nighttime portraits for the couple. The last photo below — the dip in front of the ski slopes — is pure magic.
