Utah Winter Proposal | St Regis Deer Valley

Ahhhh I love me a winter proposal! On a mountaintop on Christmas Eve, no less!

This groom-to-be was a-ma-zing when it came to planning every detail of asking his lady love to share his life. Despite organizing the proposal from afar (the couple is from out-of-state), he chose the location (not only that the proposal would take place at the St. Regis Deer Valley but, like, the specific location — the fire garden — at the property) and made every arrangement from booking a proposal photographer (ahem, me + V), to notifying the property that he was proposing (and making sure champagne was ready), to securing post-proposal dinner reservations! Even the weather cooperated with gorgeous blue skies and soft puffy clouds.

Equally as impressive as the planning was the pure adorableness of the bride-to-be. LOOK AT HER SMILE!!! She was the embodiment of surprised & clap-your-hands-and-bounce-around happiness, and V & I kept catching each other’s eyes in sheer delight.

Following the mountaintop proposal, we walked around the property for a few more photos and, also, to give the couple time to *fully realize* what just happened to them. V & I don’t want to intrude on the intimacy of the moment and overstay our welcome, but we always want to be sure to capture some of that post-proposal-glow before we leave them to their celebration (… and the commencement of the calling family & friends to share the joy!).
