Utah Valley Family Photographer
Last week, V & I drove down to the Utah Valley for a family shoot.
It wasn’t just any family shoot. And although it looks like it, it wasn’t the Cutest Baby In the World shoot either (okay, okay; *maybe* it is the Cutest Baby in the World shoot).
It was a shoot that reunited me with my friend Havilah, a beautiful, sparkly woman that I was fortunate to meet when I photographed her wedding a year and a half ago.
I describe Havilah as ‘sparkly’ because, well, I’m flat out of superlatives to use to describe her. She’s simply wonderful, and anyone whose life has remotely brushed hers knows what I mean. For one thing, she’s bright as hell: curious and attentive and informed. She’s also had a fascinating career with jobs that have put her in contact with famous and/or renowned individuals that are among the most interesting, and, frankly, ‘cool’ people on the planet. So, yes, fabulous jobs — but I’m not sure that’s the most amazing part of Havilah’s career. What’s unique about her is that these clients become her friends. In fact, I think anyone that meets her ends up wanting to be her friend. Heck, I was hired to be her photographer… and yet I felt like I’d known her for years within a few seconds of our ‘nice to meet you!’ hug.
I think it’s her huge, warm heart and wholly considerate nature that suck you in. Make you feel good around her. Make you happy that you know her.
She moved to Germany after her wedding, but she was back in Utah recently, visiting her hometown sans her precious husband, and I was so, so thrilled that we could fit in a shoot with several members of her immediate family. I got to meet her son (ummmm, seriously perfect child), and, as usual, within moments of seeing her big smile and bright eyes, V & I were smitten (again). I hope these photos reflect just how much we’ve cherished getting to know her & the people in her life.
